The Device

Both people point their MingleSticks at each other and press the button. The range of operation is about 2 to 3 feet between devices. On each MingleStick, a red flashing light turns solid green to indicate a successful connection has been made.

Two MingleSticks only exchange an ID number. No personal information is exchanged. These ID numbers reference your online account. To ensure you share the appropriate information, please login to your account to update your profile and contact information.

Our patent pending technology is designed so that you register your MingleStick to an online account. No personal information actually resides on the physical device. The MingleStick contains an ID number that is associated to your account. Your online account contains all your contact information, professional information, profile picture, and more. With the MingleStick, you ‘click to connect’ with people to share your online profiles.

No. When you receive your MingleStick you can begin using it immediately. You will want to register the stick to your online account as soon as possible though so that people can view your profile picture and contact information.

Up to 500 mingles can be stored on the device at one time. When you upload your connections, your counter is reset and you can mingle with another 500 people! So mingle as much as you want!

The MingleStick is designed to last for over one year. No battery recharging is needed. If the battery dies, it can easily be replaced.

Security and Safety

No worries. Because the MingleStick does not store personal information, there is no security risk associated with email addresses and phone numbers getting into the hands of wrong people. Registering your MingleStick to your online account also safeguards the connections on your stick because other people cannot take and upload your connections to their account. To replace your MingleStick, you will need to purchase a new stick.

No worries. When you make a connection with another person, you are only sharing your public profile. You can control the information displayed on your public profile. When you return home to upload your connections you can decide to disclose additional information (or you can delete the connection altogether).

Your Computer

Yes! Before plugging the MingleStick into your computer, ensure your computer is connected to the internet. Because the mingles on your device need to be uploaded to our website, an internet connection is required.

There's a good chance your computer has virus and/or firewall protection preventing the StartHerePC application from accessing the internet. Temporarily disable your security program or use a different computer to upload your mingles. (Use a personal computer vs. your corporate computer)

The MingleStick works on both Windows and Mac computers.

A program is automatically executed that will launch your internet browser (so please make sure your computer is connected to the Internet). You will be asked to login to your online account to view your connections. If this is the first time using your MingleStick, you will need to create a new account.

Plug the MingleStick into the USB port of the computer. Open the Finder program on the computer. Select the "volume_name" device (this is your MingleStick). Double click the StartHereMac file. This will launch your web browser and take you to our MingleManager website.

Plug the MingleStick into the USB port of the computer. Click Start and then My Computer. Select the MingleStick drive. Double click the StartHerePC file. This will launch your web browser and take you to our MingleManager website. Depending on your computer settings, your web browser might automatically launch when the MingleStick is plugged into the computer.

Your Online Account

To solve this problem, the best option is to simply reset your password. Click the Forgot Password and type in your email address. An email will then be sent to you. Follow the instructions contained within the email.

Yes. We created a simple procedure that enables you to download your data into a CSV file. This file can then be opened in Excel giving you the flexibility to import the data into various applications. When you are logged into your account, click the Connections tab in the blue header. Then click the down arrow as shown in the graphic below.

Make sure you first upload the mingles on your MingleStick to our website. (Do NOT go directly to our website to find your mingle connections). You must first plug the MingleStick into your computer and then run the StartHerePC (or StartHereMAC) application. The application will launch your web browser and automatically upload the mingles to our website. Once you upload your mingles, you’ll be able to view them!

The StartHereMac program needs to launch via your Terminal program. To accomplish this, right click on the StartHereMac file and choose Open With. Then select the Terminal program. (You might have to select Other… and then browse a list of applications to find Terminal).
